Steven Donaldson's heartbroken mum pays touching tribute to supportive community

The heartbroken mum of murder victim Steven Donaldson has paid an emotional tribute to her local community.

Pam Donaldson described the support her family has received since her son was killed last June as “amazing”, adding: “Every gesture, big or small, has meant the world to me and my family.”

Oil worker Steven, 27, was lured to a playpark on June 6 last year by ex-girlfriend Tasmin Glass.

He was attacked there by Callum Davidson and Steven Dickie, then driven a nature reserve where he was killed with a heavy, bladed weapon. His body was later set alight.

Davidson and Dickie were found guilty of murder, while Glass was convicted of culpable homicide.

Pam shared a Facebook post showing letters of condolence left at the reserve in Kirriemuir, Angus, where Steven was killed.

She wrote: “We are very grateful for the support – from those who knew Steven and those who didn’t. It is amazing to see how much everyone wants to help.”

She added: “We would appreciate this being shared in the hope it reaches those we don’t know but have offered their support.”

One of the letters left in tribute reads: “Before last June, I had never seen your face or heard your name, but now both are on my mind on a daily basis.”

Replying to Pam’s post, Anne Spence wrote: “No one should ever have to go through what you have. My heart is with you and yours.”
