Steven Donaldson's ex-girlfriend appeals conviction for culpable homicide

A woman is appealing her conviction and sentence for culpable homicide in relation to the brutal death of her ex-boyfriend.

Tasmin Glass, 20, was caged for 10 years for her part in the killing of oil worker Steven Donaldson in Kirriemuir, Angus, on June 7 last year.

Steven Dickie and Callum Davidson – sentenced to a minimum of 23 and 24 years respectively for the murder – lodged papers to appeal their sentences on Monday.

Donaldson’s battered and burned body was found beside the charred shell of his BMW at Kirriemuir’s Loch of Kinnordy Nature Reserve.

The 27-year-old had been stabbed, struck with a baseball bat and had his spine severed by a sword or machete.

Heather Kelly, treasurer of Kirriemuir Community Council, said that many people in the Angus town were disgusted at the news Glass was also to appeal.

She said: “Feelings are running high in Kirriemuir.

“The people of the town are ashamed of what happened here.”
