Steven Donaldson murder accused saw pal strike victim 'at least 12 times'

A man on trial for murder yesterday told a court he saw his co-accused striking the victim at least 12 times.

Callum Davidson also claimed he saw Steven Dickie holding a knife and said there was blood on his hands.

Davidson, Dickie and Tasmin Glass, 20, are accused of murdering Steven Donaldson in their home town of Kirriemuir, Angus, last June.

At the High Court in Edinburgh, Davidson, 24, claimed Dickie killed Steven – who was Glass’s ex-boyfriend – out of “jealous anger”.

The court previously heard Dickie, 24, and Glass had a sexual relationship.

Steven Donaldson murder accused said plan was to 'rough up' alleged victim

Dickie’s lawyer Ian Duguid QC told the court Davidson was a “gratuitously violent” man who killed Steven, 27.

Duguid said Davidson had “fabricated” the story about Dickie being to blame.

Dickie, Davidson and Glass are accused of murdering Steven after arranging to meet him in a play park.

They deny all the charges and the trial continues.
