Steven Davis Rangers contract extension announced by Ibrox club

Steven Davis has signed a new contract extension with Rangers.

The club announced on Saturday that the midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a one-year extension which will keep him at Ibrox until 2021.

The 34-year-old missed Sunday's Betfred Cup final defeat to Celtic through injury but has impressed this season for the Gers, playing 29 times.

Davis initially joined Rangers on a six-month loan deal before signing a one-year contract last summer.

Davis told the club's website:  “I am delighted to get it all sorted. I think everyone can see I have been enjoying my football and I was keen to extend my stay.

“I know from my first spell, this club really draws you in and it is a great club to be a part of and I feel with the group we have got here, we are moving in the right direction."
