Steven Davis is on the brink of signing a permanent Rangers contract, according to a report.
The midfielder is on loan at the Ibrox club from Southampton but his deal at St Mary’s expires in the summer.
Davis was initially used only as a bit-part player when he first returned to Ibrox.
However, Steven Gerrard has played the Northern Ireland star more of late, with the 34-year-old having made 16 appearances in total for Rangers since January.
Now according to the Scottish Sun, the club is close to making the move permanent following successful talks.
Across the city of Glasgow, Celtic have reportedly triggered a contract clause to make Scott Sinclair their highest-paid player and extend his deal by 12 months.
The winger's Parkhead future has been up in the air in recent months as the club pondered over a decision.
Sinclair could've become a free agent at the end of the current campaign but, according to The Scottish Sun, Celtic have taken up an option included in the original terms he agreed when signing in 2016.
They report the club will pay him £1.75million and catapult him to the top of the wage bill.

Down south, Mesut Ozil insists he wants to remain at Arsenal.
The English Premier League side are keen to offload their top earner and will be put up for sale.
But the German – who earns a whopping £350,000 a week – said: "Do I want to stay? Absolutely. I’ve got two years left on my contract."
