Steven Davis closing in on permanent Rangers deal - reports

Northern Ireland captain Steven Davis is on the brink of signing a permanent deal with Rangers , according to reports.

The midfielder currently is on loan at the Ibrox club from Southampton but his deal at St Mary’s expires in the summer.

Davis struggled to find momentum when he first returned to Rangers but has recently found some encouraging form with Steven Gerrard's side.

The 34-year-old has made 16 appearances in total for Rangers since January, and according to the Scottish Sun the club is close to making the move permanent following successful talks.

Steven Davis drops big hint about Rangers future as he looks to next season

Speaking recently, Davis said:  "I had to take a step back due to the lack of games. It has been great to be involved again and get the intensity back. I've enjoyed being in the games the last few weeks in that role.

"I feel like I have a big part to play and can be a part of this team moving forward. We need to try and take it to another level next season."
