Steven Chu, the US energy secretary, was in London last week for a climate change meeting at which he urged people to paint their roofs white and to drive pale-coloured ("cool") cars to reflect the sun.
Strange, then, that the great man turned up to meet Prince Charles in one of the largest, heaviest, all-black SUVs that has ever been seen in London.
