Steven Bergwijn's four-word message that all Tottenham fans will agree with

Fans will have to wait just over a month for football to potentially return following the coronavirus pandemic currently gripping the world.

Last Friday the Premier League announced that football would be suspended until April 3, with a further announcement coming on Thursday that all football in England was on hold until April 30 at the earliest.

Supporters are absolutely desperate for games to return but they will have to be patient as teams will only be back on the pitch when it's safe to do so.

Players are also feeling likewise at present and Tottenham ace Steven Bergwijn summed it up perfectly when he took to his Instagram account on Saturday.

Uploading photos of his famous celebration after scoring against Wolves earlier in the month, he said: "I miss this feeling."

Bergwijn is currently out injured with an ankle injury sustained in the draw at Burnley but the suspension of the Premier League will actually work in his favour.

With head coach Jose Mourinho previously claiming that the Dutchman would likely miss the rest of the campaign due to his injury, the fact the season looks set to run into the summer months means that he should be able to play a part as they look to finish a difficult year on a high.

Spurs had been working as normal at Hotspur Way earlier in the week but the club have now taken the decision to stop all training until next month at the earliest.

The players have been asked to keep on top of their fitness by working at home with individual programmes drafted by the coaching staff as they would do during their summer break.

With Ben Davies and Moussa Sissoko returning to first-team training last week, Mourinho will be hoping that he has Harry Kane and Son Heung-min to also call upon once Spurs are back in action.

The Lilywhites have a total of six games to be rescheduled due to the current break in play.
