Steven Bergwijn has message for Tottenham's Premier League rivals after completing transfer

Steven Bergwijn has now completed his move to Tottenham.

The Dutch international has made the move from PSV Eindhoven to Spurs, with the player signing a contract until 2025 with the north London club.

Spurs agreed a fee of £25.6m plus add-ons for the 22-year-old, with the player putting pen-to-paper on a five year deal after undergoing a medical on Tuesday evening.

Bergwijn is seen as a Christian Eriksen replacement, after the Denmark international joined Inter Milan yesterday.

Premier League transfer round-up: Eriksen completes Inter Milan move

He was not involved for PSV at the weekend, and a statement from the Dutch club said: "Steven Bergwijn did not join his PSV team-mates for training on Tuesday morning.

"Bergwijn has been given permission by PSV to travel to England to finalise a move."

According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the player drove to the Philips Stadium in the early hours of Tuesday morning to say goodbye to PSV's technical manager John de Jong and board member Peter Fossen.

And Bergwijn has spoken to the Dutch publication about his move to the Premier League, with the Dutchman in confident mood ahead of potentially making his debut for Spurs against Manchester City this weekend, although he has admitted that he will need to adapt to the English top flight.

"Of course it will take some getting used to, but it will all be alright," he said.

"I think that my physical match is also good in the Premier League. I believe in myself and I really know that I am not there yet. Of course I have played many matches in the Eredivisie. England is a bit different, but I know what I can do. "
