Steve Zacharanda: parting shot?

So did Adam Smith, AKA Steve Zacharanda, really resign in his drunken YouTube rant after Barack Obama's US election win? Monkey only asks after hearing that Smith was in fact one of 65 staff to take voluntary redundancy in a restructure of the Trinity Mirror's midlands operation. However, Smith's bosses are understood to be less than impressed with his video appearance, not least his claim - which he has since retracted - that he was cutting and pasting copy off the BBC website. What a shame that there won't also be a camera in the office when he is called in for a disciplinary hearing next week. Let's hope Smith hasn't already spent his five-figure redundancy payout because now Monkey hears he might not be getting it.
