Steve Spurrier takes shot at Redskins after AAF debut win

Steve Spurrier, now head coach of the Orlando Apollos, took home a 40-6 win in his AAF debut.

After, he also took a swipe at the Washington Redskins:

Spurrier just moved to 6-0 on his career in debuts with teams, hence the comment.

Funnily enough, Spurrier’s brief flirtation with the NFL that started in 2002 only produced a 12-20 record over two seasons.

Spurrier is one of several faces associated with the Redskins in the past who now serve a role in the new league. Rest assured, Redskins fans will watch to see if his tenure in Orlando produces a better result than the one he just joked about after his debut.

While Spurrier attempts to keep winning, the Redskins will watch from afar while trying to dissect a serious problem at quarterback after retaining much of the same coaching staff.
