Steve Spurrier randomly walked into a Florida coaches meeting and drew up a play

Steve Spurrier may not be an active college football head coach anymore, but the Head Ball Coach is still coming up with ideas … and looking to share them.

The Florida Gators were featured on the latest edition of HBO’s 24/7 College Football, which gave viewers an intimate, Hard Knocks-style look at one of the nation’s biggest college football programs.

During one scene, Florida head coach Dan Mullen was leading a Monday coaches meeting when Spurrier rolled up to the room and asked loudly, “Y’all got that play where the Vikings hit it yesterday?” And then Spurrier walked right up to the board and drew up the play for the room.

OK, that was good.

Even if the Florida coaching staff didn’t seem to keen on adding the play to the playbook, you can see that Spurrier is taking his “ambassador” role at Florida seriously.

But hey, you don’t get to be the de facto AAF champion without some good plays. Spurrier’s still got it.
