Steve Smith's lean patch is not a concern: Mitchell Starc

RAJKOT: Finding themselves in the middle of a rare poor run in ODI cricket, Australia, going into the 2023 ODI World Cup, need their former captain Steve Smith to find his mojo again.

In five ODIs this year, all Smith has made is 63 runs@15.75, with no half-centuries. For someone who has scored 4980 runs in 144 matches@44.07 with 12 hundreds and 29 fifties, you'd expect Smith to bounce back. Naturally, the Aussies are unperturbed about Smith's lean run.

"No. The numbers speak for themselves. He has been a high-class player and has been a massive part of all formats for Australia. It is the adjustment factor, coming back to India after a series in South Africa, some guys are coming off a break," said left-arm pace ace Mitchell Starc in Rajkot on Tuesday.
