Steve Smith has been ruled out of the third Ashes Test at Headingley, failing to recover in time from the concussion he sustained at Lord's.
Smith sat out training at the Leeds ground today, and was seen receiving consolatory pats and arms around the shoulder from teammates and coach Justin Langer.
A Jofra Archer bouncer landed on Smith's neck just below the helmet grill on Saturday, sending the former captain sprawling to the floor and eventually ruling him out for the remainder of the second Test with delayed concussion symptoms.
Langer confirmed Smith's omission from the third Test on Tuesday.
More to come.
