LAS VEGAS – Steve-O is rooting for Conor McGregor for one reason only.
McGregor fights Donald Cerrone on Saturday at UFC 246 in a welterweight bout, and McGregor has expressed interest in a potential fight with “BMF” champion Jorge Masvidal.
So “Jackass” star Steve-O, who recently met Masvidal in Miami, hopes McGregor wins – only so Masvidal can get a big money fight next.
“I shouldn’t say this because I don’t like to be divisive or polarizing, but that’s pretty much the only reason – because I want Jorge to get paid,” Steve-O told MMA Junkie at the launch of Masvidal’s new mezcal brand, El Recuerdo.
Steve-O is predicting betting favorite McGregor gets the job done.
“The oddsmakers tend to get it right, I feel like – especially when it’s so lopsided,” he said. “I mean, we’ve seen bigger discrepancies in the odds, but anytime you’ve got an over -300 favorite, I think that kind of says what’s going to happen.”
UFC 246 takes place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.
