Steve Nash was brought to tears after Tottenham’s epic Champions League comeback

NBA Hall of Famer Steve Nash is a longtime Tottenham Hotspur fan. Between his ownership stake in the MLS’ Vancouver Whitecaps and his background of playing soccer, Nash is a huge supporter of the sport.

That appreciation for soccer helped him score a studio gig with Turner Sports for its UEFA Champions League coverage this year. On Wednesday, that hire paid off in the best way.

Down three goals on aggregate in the semifinal against Ajax, Spurs stormed back with three goals in the second half to take the away-goal advantage and advance to the final in Madrid. As Lucas Moura scored the decisive goal in the sixth added minute, Nash couldn’t contain his emotions.

He was moved to tears right there on camera.

“I’m too old to be crying over football,” Nash said as the video got played back to him.

He apparently took two laps around the studio in jubilation.

Spurs will face Liverpool on June 1 as they eye the first Champions League title in the club’s history.
