Steve Kerr, Klay Thompson react to chants from Boston crowd toward Draymond Green in Game 3

From the time the starting lineups were introduced for Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Boston’s TD Garden on Wednesday, Draymond Green was public enemy No. 1.

Boos and other chants echoed through the Boston arena whenever the Golden State Warriors All-Star forward touched the ball during Game 3. A missed shot or turnover from Green set the Boston crowd into a frenzy. Along with loud booing, the Boston crowd also included NSFW chants like “[Expletive] you Draymond!” and “Draymond Sucks!”

After Golden State’s loss in Game 3, Steve Kerr called the Boston crowd’s chants “classy.”

Klay Thompson also came to his teammate’s defense after Game 3. When asked if Boston’s crowd was a factor on Wednesday night, Thompson had a similar response to his coach.

It was not a factor. We’ve played in front of rude people before. Dropping F-Bombs with children in the crowd. Real classy. Good job, Boston.

Green’s performance in Game 3 didn’t do himself any favors against the Boston crowd. Green posted a quiet two points on 1-of-4 shooting from the floor with four boards, three assists and two turnovers in 35 minutes. Green fouled out of the contest with four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

While it will be on Green to bounce back in Game 4, the Boston crowd could have more fuel for the fire at TD Garden on Friday after Kerr and Thompson’s comments.
