Steve Kerr fined $25,000 by NBA for verbally abusing a game official

After dropping a 111-98 decision to the Sacramento Kings on Monday night, the Warriors will enter play on January 8 with a 9-29 record.

On Wednesday, the losses continued to pile up.

The NBA announced that head coach Steve Kerr was fined $25,000 for verbally abusing a game official and failing to leave the court in a timely manner. Kerr was whistled for two technical fouls with 1:14 remaining in the second quarter of what became Monday night’s loss after yelling obscenities at official Jason Goldenberg.

To say that the season has been full of frustrations for the Warriors would be a bit of an understatement. The ejection was only the third of Kerr’s career.

As if things couldn’t get any worse, the Warriors will be hosting Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.

Losers of five straight games, the Bucks, who will carry a league-best 32-6 record into Chase Center, will be coming off of a loss to the San Antonio Spurs and will be looking to avoid suffering back-to-back losses for the first time this season.
