Steve Kerr expects DeMarcus Cousins to return Thursday against Pacers

The Golden State Warriors are finishing a four-game road trip tonight in Minnesota, and will be without center DeMarcus Cousins for the second consecutive night.

Cousins went down late in the team’s matchup with the Oklahoma City on Saturday night with an ankle injury. Cousins underwent an MRI on Monday that came back negative, but the Warriors decided to sit him for Monday night’s meeting with San Antonio and tonight’s game in Minnesota for precautionary reasons.

The Warriors won’t be without Cousins for long, though. According to The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, Steve Kerr expects DeMarcus Cousins to return to the lineup when the team hosts the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night.

The Warriors lost the first of the two games without Cousins to the San Antonio Spurs. The team didn’t shoot well and the Spurs made a few fantastic shots down the stretch to keep the Warriors from stealing the game.

Cousins’ replacement Andrew Bogut played fairly well in his first game back with the Warriors since 2016. He recorded seven points and seven rebounds in 19 minutes of play. Expect Bogut to start in Cousins place against the Timberwolves.
