Steve Irwin's son sobs as he talks about sister's wedding day without their father

Australian TV presenter Robert Irwin got very emotional at his sister Bindi Irwin's wedding to Chandler Powell.

The 16-year-old son of Steve Irwin attended the wedding at Australia Zoo, which was shown in a television special in the US last night.

The teen wildlife warrior was clearly moved at his 21-year-old sister's nuptials to American professional wakeboarder Chandler.

It seemed that the outpouring of emotion was due to the absence of their late father.

Legendary zookeeper Steve, nicknamed The Crocodile Hunter, was killed in 2006 after a stingray pierced his chest whilst filming in the Australian Barrier Reef.

There was an international outpouring of emotion due to Irwin's death at the time.

In the show, Robert says: "I think for all of us, it's just emotional, excited and it's just an incredibly special day.

"I'm overjoyed for Bindi and Chandler to start their married life today."

He was then shown to blink repeatedly as he held back tears discussing the ceremony.

He added: "I can't wait, I'm emotional already!

"Oh, what are you doing Robert? Pull yourself together! It's happy tears though!"

Robert continued: "I've got the most incredible sister in the world and I absolutely just love her so much and I'm so happy for her today. I'm going to need a second, sorry."

He then walked off camera to compose himself after the emotional discussion.

The Australian children's TV presenter tried to speak again, saying: "I think part of the reason why it's such an incredibly emotional day for all of us..."

However, Robert was soon overcome with emotion and broke down in tears again.

His mother, Terri Irwin, placed the high emotions as being down to the absence of his father.

She said: "It all starts hitting home that your dad's not here and should be and all the things are just kind of snowballing into one."

Their Crikey! It's the Irwins aired the TV wedding special in the US already and will be shown across the world before its native Australia sees it on July 18, 2020.

We're sure that fans will still not want to miss it, though!
