Steve Hutchinson will have to wait another year for Hall call

Former Vikings guard Steve Hutchinson didn’t get the call to the Hall of Fame over the weekend in his second year of eligibility.

Instead, Champ Bailey, Tony Gonzalez, Ed Reed, Kevin Mawae, Ty Law, Pat Bowlen and Gil Brandt will get be enshrined this summer.

Hutchinson will make it eventually and will most-likely make it in 2020, which is a relatively weak class. The headline players with first-year of eligibility include Troy Polamalu, Reggie Wayne and Patrick Willis.

Hutchinson played from 2001-2012 and with the Vikings from 2006-2011. He made the Pro Bowl from 2003-2009 and was an All Pro in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
