Steve ‘Greek’ Antonopulos to serve as Pat Bowlen’s Hall of Fame presenter

Pat Bowlen’s family has chosen former Denver Broncos trainer Steve “Greek” Antonopulos to serve as the owner’s presenter at the Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony in August, the team announced today.

Antonopulos and several of Bowlen’s family members will unveil the owner’s bronze bust Aug. 3 in Canton, Ohio.

“I was overwhelmed with emotion when I was asked to be Mr. Bowlen’s presenter,” Antonopulos said in a statement released by the team. “I feel very honored and very humbled. It’s one of the greatest things I’ve ever been asked to do in my life.

“If you really look at it, it’s all about Mr. Bowlen. We developed a really neat relationship over all the years that he’s been here. It’s certainly unique — he’s not only my boss but he’s my friend. That’s what makes it even more of an honor to do this, especially with the request coming from his family.”

Greek is the only full-time employee that has been with the team for the entire tenure of Bowlen’s ownership (1984-present). He started as an assistant athletic trainer in 1976 and was later promoted to top trainer.

Antonopulos now serves as the team’s director of sports medicine.
