Steve Cooper's January transfer window hint and the decisions awaiting some Swansea City players

Steve Cooper has hinted that Swansea City could yet make further signings this month, although it will depend on outgoings.

The Swans have already brought in Rhian Brewster, Marc Guehi and Conor Gallagher on loan deals.

Despite the departures of Sam Surridge, Kristoffer Nordfeldt and Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Cooper has recently said that certain fringe members of his squad will be allowed to leave this month.

Declan John, Barrie McKay and Tom Carroll are among those who have struggled to get regular minutes under their belts so far this term while Borja Baston's influence has waned since he took the Championship by storm in the opening month of the campaign.

But having previously stated that he does not expect any further incomings in the January transfer window, Cooper has now revealed Swansea could yet add to their squad on the proviso that certain players move on.

"Like I said, there's players who we won't stand in their way if they want to go," he explained after the 2-0 loss to Stoke.

"I imagine there'll be some decisions for them this week.

"If that happens then it may create an opportunity to bring players in, but we won't do that unless spaces are freed up.

"But there's no real update from what we've said previously."

The January transfer window closes at 11pm on Friday, January 31.

Swansea return to action against Preston at Deepdale on the opening day of February.
