Steve Clarke has been branded 'unprofessional' by Norway boss Stale Solbakken after Scotland pulled the plug on their planned friendly.
And the Norwegian camp launched a barrage of criticism, with Atletico Madrid ace Alexander Sorloth slamming the Scots and Norway team manager - former Fulham star Brede Hangeland - labelling Scotland as 'embarrassing and weak.'
Scotland were due to play a behind-closed-doors training match at their Charlotte base camp this week against the Norwegians.
But the Scandinavian nation was angered that not only did Scotland renege on the agreement, they also cited injuries as a reason for cancelling the unofficial match...despite Clarke admitting he was delighted they had got through the match against Bolivia with no injuries.
And manager Solbakken didn't hold back after his side had played out a 1-1 draw against Scotland's group opponents Morocco. He said: "It was very surprising to me and it is unprofessional of Scotland.
"It is unprofessional that the coach has not called me, that they used their team manager to call and tell us the game was off after we have finished training on Saturday. I don't think the injuries they're blaming came from the last training session. That's not the case.
"It's disappointing. It's unprofessional. But we have to live with that. That's why we adjusted a bit in the game against Morocco. Scotland must have their morals, we must have our morals.
"But if it were me, I would have picked up the phone and explained."

And a queue of Norwegians made their feelings on Scotland's actions clear too. Striker Sorloth said: "It's a real shame and quite unprofessional of Scotland."
And 91-times capped former star Hangeland, who is now their team manager, was particularly scathing. He said: "We have been working on that match for many months. It is embarrassing to cancel it a couple of days before.
"We can't do anything about it, we just have to forget about it and make the best of it.
"Everything was clarified in a so-called gentlemen's agreement. So I don't think it was particularly gentlemanly to cancel on such short notice. But this is beyond our control. We just have to deal with it.
"Suddenly, they don't want to play. I think that was very weak."
And title-winning Arsenal and Norway skipper Martin Odegaard admitted he was annoyed that Scotland pulled the plug. He said: "Of course it's disappointing. We would have liked to have a match so that everyone got match training. But that's life.
"There's no point complaining about it now."
