Steve Clarke swerves Nations League draw amid coronavirus fears

Scotland boss Steve Clarke will not attend the Nations League draw in Amsterdam amid rising coronavirus fears.

The SFA insist they will not take any "unnecessary risk" with the manager and will instead be represented by chief-executive Ian Maxwell and president Rod Petrie.

Clarke's side face Israel at Hampden on March 26 in their Euro 2020 play off semi-final, with a potential Final away at Norway or Serbia just five days later.

Tuesday's draw concerns the next Nations League campaign but it's been deemed Clarke should not attend.

An SFA spokesperson said: "On the back of the first response meeting, it was determined by the group that the national coach attending was an unnecessary risk."
