Steve Clarke names Scotland side to face Cyprus in Euro 2024 qualifier

Steve Clarke has named his Scotland side to take on Cyprus in Larnaca.

The national team is aiming to make it five wins from five in Euro qualifying.

Clarke's side won 3-0 against Temur Ketsbaia's men on matchday one of Group A, with a strike from John McGinn and a Scott McTominay double giving the hosts all three points.

Since then, Scotland have defeated Spain, Norway and Georgia to put them top of their qualifying pool with four games remaining.

Clarke has gone for.....

SCOTLAND XI: Gunn, Hickey, Robertson, McTominay, Tierney, McGinn, McGregor, Adams, Hendry, Gilmour, Poretous

SUBS: McCrorie, Clark, Souttar, Dykes, Christie, McKenna, Armstrong, Ferguson, Nisbet, Jack, Patterson, McLean

In the build-up to the fixture, the 60-year-old was keen to point out that the national team still has work to do if they want to qualify for Euro 2024.

He said: "This is another opportunity for us to add to our total so far. We’ve been working on getting better game by game from day one.

"It’s something we’ve always done, just tried to improve all the time. I said after Euros 2020 that we’d improve as a group and I think we’ve done that.  But I still feel there is more improvement to come.

"Yeah, it’s good to be where we are just now. But can we be a little bit better? If you do as well as we have done - to be above Spain at this moment in time - is obviously nice. But there are still four games to go."
