Newcastle United's medical team were working overtime after the 3-2 win over Southampton after the Magpies were dealt a treble injury blow.
Callum Wilson is being assessed for a hamstring injury while Fabian Schar and Javier Manquillo could be out for a number of games after being taken off at St James' Park.
Steve Bruce was left looking for updates on his key men after watching on painfully as the nine-men held on for a win.
After the game Bruce said: "That's the disappointing thing for me because for too long now, we've had people missing with illness and injury, and we've been desperate at times.
"Unfortunately, it looks as if we've picked up an awful injury with Manquillo, Fab Schar's looks a bad knee injury and of course Callum Wilson now has a hamstring too, so in that respect in the cold light of day tomorrow, I'll assess it all.
"We're taking one step forward, it seems, and always two back.
"You can understand why managers were complaining because we were simply playing too much in December and January and most clubs are falling to pieces with it."
