Steve Bruce thinks Spurs game could be 'just the right type of game' to bounce back from Norwich

Steve Bruce has described Tottenham Hotspur as one of the "best teams in Europe" ahead of Sunday's clash in the capital.

Newcastle United will walk out at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time ever after an inquest behind the scenes at Benton.

Before addressing the tough task against Spurs, Bruce said: "The one thing you can do is go back to work and ask questions.

"They have trained well all week.

"Let's hope we can produce a performance this week."

Spurs opened up the season with a 3-1 win over Aston Villa and then picked up a creditable draw at Man City last week.

Bruce said: "Look they are a very good side - as good as you get - one of the best in Europe.

"We are under no illusion over how difficult it could be.

"Hopefully, it is just the right type of game for us after last week.

"Not many people will give us a chance going there so let's go and enjoy the occasion.

"We will have to play well to get anything at all.

"But Tottenham are a very good side."

When asked if they were good enough to sustain a challenge for the title this season, Bruce, who won the league with Man United, said: "I would think so.

"They have been there or there abouts now.

"They have a wonderful new stadium.

"Everything is geared towards them making a challenge.

"I wouldn't be surprised if they make a challenge this season."
