Steve Bruce's message to fans as Newcastle United braced for another low crowd

Steve Bruce has urged Newcastle United fans to make a "racket" in the home clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Magpies go into the game amidst reports that the crowd could be 8,000 down on capacity but Bruce wants to give those who do attend something to get excited about.

He'll hope that both Andy Carroll and Allan Saint-Maximin can help him achieve that against the struggling Seagulls at St James' Park.

Going into the game, Bruce told the Chronicle: "I have to say they were fantastic at Liverpool last week, the racket they made was unbelievable.

"They stayed with the team until the end.

"They are quite unique.

"As I keep saying you can't take that for granted.

"We need a big atmosphere against Brighton.

"Let's hope we can give them something to shout about.

"We will have to be patient because they're all about possession of the ball.

"It would be wonderful to get our second win of the season."
