Steve Bruce says that Sean Longstaff's stance on losing his place to Arsenal loanee Joe Willock has been impressive behind the scenes.
The midfielder - who burst on to the scene in 2019 at first-team level - has demonstrated he may get back to the form that wooed pundits such as Alan Shearer and Jamie Redknapp in his first senior season at the club.
Longstaff was everywhere in the second half and didn't shirk any challenges as Burnley pressed hard for an equaliser.
Bruce said: "Certainly, he’s played very, very well. I was very pleased with him. He’s had a good week.
"He played very well coming back.
"This is what we wanted him to do. I’m pleased for him as he had to wait, be patient. He’s seen Joe Willock arrive (on loan from Arsenal).
"He’s took on the baton, good for him."
