Steve Bruce reveals he is considering playing Joelinton out wide for trip to Burnley

Steve Bruce has admitted he is pondering playing Joelinton out wide ahead of the Premier League clash at Burnley.

The Brazilian is currently on a four month goal drought and with Allan Saint-Maximin out with a hamstring injury , Bruce is facing a rethink with his formation.

Joelinton has done the job out wide for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, and Bruce is taking a serious look at switching him from his central role.

Bruce, , said: "It is something we are toying with.

"He has played half his career there at his previous club.

"He's no stranger to it.

"He can play a different formation and it's something we have up our sleeve if we need it.

"It might just give big Joe a lift as well.

"Sometimes a change of scenery, formation or position can stimulate you a bit.

"He is only a young lad and he's got a big responsibility on his shoulders. We have to be patient."
