Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce made two changes to his team to face Leeds United at St James' Park.
The Magpies recalled Jacob Murphy and Ryan Fraser to the starting line-up and dropped Javier Manquillo to the bench along with Andy Carroll.
Bruce was able to rely on Allan Saint-Maximin on the bench while Dwight Gayle once again took a place on the sidelines.
There was no place for Sean Longstaff in the squad or even as sub despite nine spaces on the bench.
Bruce was looking for his first win in 10 matches in all competitions.
Newcastle lost the reverse fixture 5-2 at Elland Road back in December.
