Steve Bruce makes bold Callum Wilson and Joe Willock call - Newcastle team news

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce named an unchanged line-up at Anfield as he looked to close in on Premier League survival.

The Magpies resisted the temptation to start with Callum Wilson despite the striker being declared fit for the clash on Merseyside.

And Allan Saint-Maximin had shaken off an ankle injury picked up in the 3-2 win against West Ham United last weekend at St James' Park.

Bruce, however, has given himself plenty of options from the bench, not least with match winner Joe Willock available to him if things go wrong at Anfield.

With Wilson available for a second half role, he could also turn to Dwight Gayle or Liverpool old boy Andy Carroll.

But it is not surprising he has stuck with the side that beat West Ham.

Victory today for Newcastle would all but secure their place in the Premier League for next season.

UNITED : Dubravka, Murphy, Fernandez, Clark, Dummett, Ritchie, Shelvey, S Longstaff, Almiron, Saint-Maximin, Joelinton

Subs : Gillespie, Lewis, Krafth, Manquillo, Hendrick, Willock, Carroll, Gayle, Wilson
