Steve Bruce insists he is never going to quit Newcastle United despite more fan chants

Steve Bruce has insisted he must shut out the noise as he bids to overcome a difficult chapter of his Newcastle United career.

With fans now making their feelings clear towards Bruce the former Man United skipper has vowed to battle on.

In a rare moment of joy he punched the air as Allan Saint-Maximin equalised to send the majority of a 50,000 crowd wild.

But he endured some brutal moments as fans made their displeasure clear.

Bruce commented: "I can't sit here and say it isn't difficult. I understand their frustration. I really, really do.

"I believe it is all about the team and the crowd, and the atmosphere they generated.

"What can I say about the chants? I am never going to walk away or quit.

"I continue to try to do the best I can in this situation and hope I can draw on my experience which I've had in the last 20 odd years

"And try to keep out the noise."

And looking back on the game, which still leaves Newcastle win-less, Bruce hoped that he could turn things around.

Bruce, speaking in his post-match Press conference, said: "The first half was very difficult, the first 20 minutes.

"You look back and we need that win now.

"I have said it many times in the Premier League, you are judged on results.

"We have drew two and now we need a couple of wins if we can get them."
