Steve Bruce handed quadruple injury boost ahead of trip to Leicester City

Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin has suffered no issues after sustaining a late injury scare against Brighton and has trained with his team-mates ahead of the trip to Leicester City.

The Frenchman was a concern for Steve Bruce on Saturday night but is now back in contention for the clash at the King Power Stadium.

Also back in training - and pictured smiling - was Andy Carroll, who has not suffered any negative reaction after playing his first minutes in the Premier League since February.

Carroll underwent serious ankle surgery in the summer but is ready for his next appearance this weekend.

Bruce has also been boosted by the sight of Sean Longstaff back on the training field after an ankle injury picked up two weeks ago.

Bruce had said last week: "Longy did not make it but hopefully he will be back this week."

Longstaff's energy in midfield was clearly missing in the dire stalemate with Brighton.

Florian Lejeune is also training with his team-mates after a long lay off with a new injury, the defender stated last week he was hoping to back in the frame in October.
