Steve Bruce has hailed the contributions of Martin Dubravka after his excellent display at Crystal Palace.
However, the Newcastle United head coach admitted that the Slovakian shot-stopper will be disappointed by the way he eventually conceded after Patrick van Aanholt's free-kick that won the points at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Dubravka has been the saviour for United so many times this season and pulled off two world class stops to deny Gary Cahill and Scott Dann before Fabian Schar conceded the set-piece that won it for Roy Hodgson's Eagles.
Bruce said: "The goalkeeper has made some great saves.
"Especially in the first half, that one from Gary Cahill.
"He's arguably our best player and he will be disappointed when he sees the goal back.
"He's gone the other way and the way goalkeepers are, it went his side and he will be disappointed he didn't save it.
"But how many times have I come into a Press conference and said the goalkeeper has been outstanding.
"He was outstanding again."
After the defeat, Palace boss Roy Hodgson admitted his own side were left hanging on despite creating 18 goal attempts.
The former England boss said: "Had we conceded in the last few minutes it would have been disastrous.
"That would have knocked us for six.
"But it's a win that moves us up the table and away from the relegation zone.
"We never lost sight that this would be a dogfight and we wanted to stay ahead of the curve on that."
