Steve Bruce hails 'deadly' aspect of Newcastle's win at Leicester and pays tribute to backroom team

Steve Bruce believes his side were “deadly” on the counter-attack against Leicester City - and has paid tribute to his back-room team after the 4-2 win over the Foxes.

United drafted in Graeme Jones as coach from AFC Bournemouth back in January, but has dovetailed well with Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence, with Steve Harper adopting a caretaker Academy boss role.

Bruce felt like some of the work at training started to pay off on Friday night.

He said after the win at the King Power Stadium: “We were deadly on the counter attack and the difference was the big lads being fit at the top end of the pitch.

"We could not just see it through at 4-0.

“It would not be Newcastle otherwise but I am really pleased.

“My staff have work tirelessly to make sure we got to this position.

“We have turned it around at the right time.”
