Steve Bruce delivers injury update after Sean Longstaff's night is ended early

Sean Longstaff did not look in too much discomfort as he left the Vitality Stadium after Newcastle's 4-1 win over Bournemouth.

But Steve Bruce admits he is keeping a close eye on the midfielder ahead of the West Ham clash on Sunday.

Longstaff went off moments after he'd scored his first goal of the season in the Premier League.

The Toon boss was asked about Longstaff's condition after the game, and said: “We’ve got a few, although I’ll not quite know how bad for a little while.

“Sean’s got a hamstring that kept him off, which is a blow because I thought it was as good as I’ve seen him look."
When asked if there were further injury issues - after a host of Newcastle players needed treatment during the game - Bruce said: "We’ve got one or two others – Manquillo’s got a bit of a strain – but I’ll not really know for the next 24 or 48 hours.”
