Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has promoted exciting Academy kid Joe White to his first-team squad.
Bruce is keen to have a closer look at the talented 16-year-old attacking midfielder after he starred for the Under-18s last season.
The Magpies snapped up the youngster from Carlisle United's youth ranks.
But Bruce has handed him a chance with the senior ranks after just 12 appearances with the youth side last term.
With the transfer window now closed Bruce is keen to take a deeper look at the club's Academy and the local grassroots scene.
White had been with Carlisle since the Under-11 age group.
At his Press conference, Bruce stated he has been delighted with the progress of Matty and Sean Longstaff in recent times and is thrilled to see Andy Carroll back at the club.
