Steve Bruce calls for 'clarity' on Newcastle United takeover

Steve Bruce has called for the Premier League to clarify their position on Newcastle United's takeover situation.

The club have reached the latter stages of the owner's and director's test but are awaiting a decision either way.

Amanda Staveley, the Reuben brothers and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund are hoping to buy the club for £340million from Mike Ashley.

Bruce was asked about the takeover again after the game, he said: "I think everybody needs a bit of clarity.

"And if I am led to believe it is the Premier League that are stalling all of the negotiations then they have to come and make a decision sooner or later.

"It is not healthy for anybody.

"As I have said for me personally, and we have another game on Wednesday now (at Bournemouth) and we have a wonderful opportunity.

"We can't use that (the takeover) as an excuse but we need a bit of clarity and get it put to bed one way or another."
