Steve Bruce braced for more criticism as Newcastle United fail to win again at Wolves

Steve Bruce accepts that Newcastle United will probably be on the end of an onslaught of criticism after their 2-1 defeat at Wolves.

The Magpies were beaten at Molineux and are now win-less after seven matches in the Premier League and sit second bottom of the table.

Bruce was left to reflect on another defeat on a day in which United abandoned their opening tactics and shifted from a back four to a back five.

Bruce said afterwards: "Whoever you are in the Premier League, if you haven't won in seven games we all know the drill.

"We all know what comes.

"It's not easy. It still disappoints you and upsets you. I look at myself straight away.

"Can we do better? We'll keep looking at it and working on it."

"l feel like a long playing record at the minute"

After turning their noses up at an invite back into the game after Jeff Hendrick's equaliser, Bruce said: "We got back into the game.

"After we scored, we had the big chance in the second half and unfortunately didn't take it.

"We are all pleased Raul Jimenez is back but the second goal was a bit too easy for my liking.

"l feel like a long playing record at the minute.
