Steve Bruce asks for 'quick' decision on Newcastle takeover - and questions why it has been delayed

Steve Bruce has called for the takeover saga at Newcastle United to be put to bed - and quickly.

The uncertainty hanging over St James' Park in the last three month has been draining for fans who have had hopes raised highly that they could be supporting the richest club in the world.

But the Premier League are yet to make a decision on whether a Middle East consortium have passed or failed the owner's and director's tests which started 14 weeks ago.

When asked if he had been offered an update from the current powers that be, Bruce said: "No - and to perfectly honest I don't want it.

"Because then I can't answer questions on it.

"Like all of us, these decisions have to be made, it just seems to now becoming tedious.

"It's the same thing, a Press conference every two days, (some saying) it's going to be 'this week' or 'in 48 hours' we need the people who are making the decisions to make it, and be quick about it."

Mike Ashley is yet to comment on the situation after spending lockdown in the United States.
