Steve Bruce asked question about Joelinton's form and confidence after another flat display

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce believes that Joelinton will soon be experiencing the same feelings as Miguel Almiron after his colleague ended his goal drought.

Joelinton, of course, already has one Premier League goal to his name after netting away to Spurs at the start of the season.

But he hasn't scored since with his barren run now at the five month stage.

Bruce was asked about Joelinton's confidence in the post-game Press conference, and said: "Confidence?

"Look, if we could bottle it and put it in there.

"You've just got to keep your head down, keep working and do the basics, and then it will look after itself."

Newcastle took Joelinton off for the last 13 minutes of the game against Crystal Palace but Bruce is ready to give him another chance with games against Manchester United and Everton coming up.

Bruce added: "He's finding it difficult, of course, however, we're convinced – like I've said all along with Almiron – he'll be okay.

"We have to show a bit of patience.

"Sometimes, no matter what price tag, coming from a different league, some people find it difficult to play in this, the way it is."
