Ever since Steve Ballmer took over ownership of the Clippers, he’s been among the most passionate owners in the league. He doesn’t only approach the team as a business-minded owner, but he’s also a legitimate superfan.
We saw that in action on Wednesday.
The Clippers held their introductory press conference for Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in front of a packed contingent of media and team staffers.
When it was Ballmer’s time to speak at the podium, the man was hyped. Like, so hyped. He started screaming and yelling right there on the spot — it even drew an awkward (semi-freaked out) smile from Leonard.
His opening went something like this:
“I had these notes, but I must say I’m just fired up to be here today! Pretty cool! Pretty damn cool! WOOOOOOOOOO!”
NBA Twitter predictably had plenty of jokes for the Clippers owner at the press conference. They didn’t disappoint.
