Stereophonics front man Kelly Jones announces solo show at Sage Gateshead

He was last in Newcastle with his band at This is Tomorrow festival but Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones is now getting ready to go it alone for a much more intimate UK tour.

The Welsh lads were the final headliners at This is Tomorrow at Exhibition Park, going down a storm with  a greatest hits set that included Bartender and the Thief and Dakota.

And now, following a hugely acclaimed sold-out run of solo shows earlier this month; Kelly has announced further dates to his Don’t Let The Devil Take Another Day tour for September.

Heralded as one of the finest voices of his generation, Kelly will give audiences a rare opportunity to see unique and intimate performances across an evening of storytelling and songcraft.

Fans will be delighted to see and hear some of their favourite songs in a more stripped-back environment.

Ticket holders can expect wide variety of music when he comes to Sage Gateshead on Wednesday, September 11 , taken from the Stereophonics catalogue of ten albums and their 22 years' worth of music including some of the band’s rarely performed songs.

Songs from Kelly’s 2007 solo album Only The Names Have Been Changed will also be sure to feature, as well as some brand new songs only recently written.

Kelly said "I'll be performing some old songs, lots of songs I don’t normally do, some new songs, songs that have inspired me and stories that have inspired me.

"The tour is about overcoming things and moving on from obstacles and building strength from that.

"I am looking forward to performing with some new musicians and creating some beautiful moments.”

How to get tickets

They will go on sale online from Ticketmaster at 10am on Friday, July 19.
