Stereophonics announce UK tour including Nottingham date - here's how to get tickets early

Welsh rockers Stereophonics are back on the road with an extensive UK tour and Nottingham fans need not fear as they'll be paying the city a visit.

The band - famed for classics such as Mr Writer, Have a Nice Day and Dakota - will be playing the Motorpoint Arena on Saturday, March 7.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday, September 27 with prices starting from £36.95 at ticketmaster.co.uk or motorpointarenanottingham.com.

For eager beavers gagging to secure their seat at the gig, a pre-sale will be on offer for anyone who pre-orders new album Kind before 4pm on September 24. Recorded in just 11 days at The Distillery, in Wiltshire, it will be released on October 25.

The tour announcement coincides with the unveiling of new single, Bust This Town.

“‘Bust This Town’ is a song about escapism," says frontman Kelly Jones. "Two lovers or friends or whoever you want to interpret them to be, finally find the courage to leave the small town they are stuck in and head on down the road breaking all the rules along the way.

"It’s the opener of side two of the album, with a four on the floor beat it should be a strong resident in the upcoming tour dates”.

No stranger to the city, Kelly was in Nottingham just this summer when he performed a solo set at the Royal Concert Hall.

A rare chance to catch the frontman on his own, playing some of the Welsh group's lesser-known songs, he also shared stories from his childhood along with others about life on the road with The Rolling Stones and David Bowie.
