Steps tour in Newcastle: stage times and support act as group arrive at Utilita Arena

Get your Tragedy moves dusted off and your cowboy hats on as Steps are in Newcastle on Monday night.

An incredible 24 years (how’s that for making you feel old?!) after they made their chart debut with dance anthem 5,6,7,8; Claire, Faye, H, Lee and Lisa are back on Tyneside with their latest tour.

The Utilita Arena is sure to be sea of glow sticks as the Brit winning band perform all their biggest hits and some new material from their What The Future Holds albums in front of a captive audience.

Excitement has been steadily building for Steps in Newcastle ever since tickets went on sale at the end of last year.

And, now fans are counting the hours until they can witness the likes of One For Sorrow, Stomp, It’s The Way You Make Me Feel and Deeper Shade of Blue in the flesh again.

The last time Steps played the arena was in December 2017 and the tour setlist for this time round has sparked some debate online, with some fans unhappy that they won’t be hearing more new songs.

Steps support act

If you’ve got a ticket for Newcastle you’ll want to get there early as the support act is none other than Murder on the Dancefloor songstress Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Steps timings for Newcastle

Doors: 6pm

Sophie Ellis-Bextor: 7.30pm

Interval: 8pm

Steps start: 8.15-8.30pm

Show ends: 10.30pm approx

Tickets for Monday night’s show are still available online from Ticketmaster.

If you are going be prepared to have tour Covid vaccine passport ready as you could be asked to provide it by staff.

Masks wearing is also advised in crowded areas like the concourse and corridors.
