Steps' Lisa Scott-Lee shares secret to successful 17 year with marriage with singer hubby

Steps singer Lisa Scott-Lee has revealed the secret to her long-lasting marriage to Johnny Shentall-Lee.

The 45-year-old said they've been keeping their relationship healthy by keeping talk in the bedroom free from work.

"We've made a rule that there's no business in the bedroom," she told The Sun.

"We talk about the business a lot and we used to wake up and discuss business decisions."

The two met each other 22 years ago when he auditioned to be a background dancer for Steps.

Lisa continued: “I was just blown away. And then he danced and that was it. I was gone. He had me. I was attracted to him straight away.”

Lisa and Johnny recently celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary (Instagram)

Johnny and Lisa married in 2004 and share children Jaden, 13, and Star Lily, 11.

They made the decision to move to Dubai, UAE, in 2011 where they began their school Dubai Performing Arts Academy.

Lisa joked that she doesn't "know how they do it" considering the couple work and live together.

When Lisa isn't on tour with her fellow bandmates, she is the headteacher of their school.

Lisa told The Mirror previously: “Steps is my life. It has been my life for the last 24 years, but being the principal of the school is my day job.

“I can never switch off. Even when I’m with Steps, rehearsing or shooting a video, I’ll be working on my laptop. It’s become a bit of a running joke. I have to flip between my Steps hat and principal hat, which can be really hard and stressful at times.

“I get on the plane as principal Lisa and get off the plane as pop star Lisa.”

Alongside her Steps bandmates Claire Richards, Lee Latchford-Evans, Faye Tozer and Ian “H” Watkins, Lisa has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.

But she is equally proud of DPA, which teaches youngsters aged between three and 18. It is the first and only school in the UAE to offer a BTEC qualification in Performing Arts.
