New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore returned to training camp practice at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday after missing five practices due to personal reasons. Receiver Julian Edelman was absent from practice at the start of the session. He was among nine players who were absent.
The other eight absentees were wide receivers Devin Ross, Jeff Thomas and Will Hastings, safety Adrian Phillips, running backs Sony Michel (PUP) and Lamar Miller (PUP), offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste and defensive tackle Beau Allen.
The absence of the two top running backs should leave the offense to focus on Damien Harris, who has gotten a lot of work throughout training camp. Meanwhile, the absence of Cajuste means that Jermaine Eleumunor will get a heavy workload.
