A West Lothian man missing for more than three weeks is believed to be in the Bathgate area.
Stephen Wardrop was reported missing on Sunday, 19 May having last been seen at the Sainsbury's store at Almondvale Retail Park in Livingston.
However police are now probing a potential sighting of him at Bathgate Gala Day which took place on Saturday, 1 June.
And in the early hours of Tuesday this week officers found a blue Nissan Micra, which he was believed to be travelling in, parked at the Tesco shop in Wester Inch.
Chief inspector Alun Williams, local area commander for West Lothian, said: "The public support for our investigation to trace Stephen has been really encouraging and the potential sighting, coupled with the recovery of his car in Bathgate helps us focus the inquiry on this area.
"I would ask anyone who believes they have seen Stephen, or knows his current whereabouts, to contact police immediately.
"Likewise I would also urge Stephen to get in touch with ourselves, or with family or friends to confirm he is safe."
He is described as being around 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build and was last seen in dark trousers, dark shoes, a khaki waist-length fabric jacket and blue baseball cap.
Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 1828 of 24 May.
